Thorns of the Law prick Rose Heights Scammer

Jason Levy of a Rose Heights, Montego Bay St. James was on Thursday April 6, 2017 fined Three Hundred Thousand dollars ($300,000) or twelve (12) months imprisonment when he appeared in the St. James Circuit Court.

Levy was arrested in March 2015 during a MOCA operation in Rose Heights District, St. James. During a search of the dwelling house where he was present,  paraphernalia used in Lottery Scam as well as Six Hundred and Twenty Eight Thousand Jamaican Dollars ($628,000.00 JMD), were found.

Following an interview session, charges were laid for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transaction) (Special Provisions) Act, 2013. On Monday April 3, 2017, Levy pled guilty to the charges and a fine was subsequently imposed.
